Come join us for an evening of whisky and stories in the historic heart of the Old Town of Edinburgh. Whisky 101 is the ideal introduction to the world of whisky - we'll tell you how the process starts, how the industry grew, and all about some of the wacky characters and intriguing stories that helped to make the Scottish whisky industry the finest in the world.
Along the way, we'll sample whiskies from each of the major whisky producing regions in Scotland, whilst exploring a newly uncovered underground area of Edinburgh.
The standard price includes 4 whiskies from 4 different distilleries, as one of our talented guides leads you on a spirited adventure through our very unique venue.
We also offer two other options for the more experienced whisky connoisseur:-
Intermediate Level - 4 drams of rarer, older, and more unusual whiskies, things you won't find anywhere else or older versions of whiskies you may have seen in reputable whisky shops.
High End Whiskies - 5 drams of top shelf whisky, the kind you'd pine over in the shop but never consider buying for yourself, and now is your opportunity to try it.
For all bookings of day tours, a minimum of 24 hours' notice prior to your scheduled departure is required in order to receive a full refund. If a cancellation is made with less than 24 hours notice, no refund is given.
For all bookings of multi-day and custom private tours, a minimum of 72 hours' notice prior to your scheduled departure is required in order to receive a full refund. If a cancellation is made with less than 72 hours' notice, no refund is given*

Thanks for booking the Whisky 101 with us!
Your evening will begin in the CoDE Pod Hostel, 1A Parliament Square - please be there 15 minutes before the start time to make sure that we can start promptly; come on in to the hostel reception, and once we're all ready to go, your guide will take you underground to The Lost Close, and the evening will begin proper.
Please note that there are 2 Code Hostels in the city, and this is The Court - 1A Parliament Square. Any trouble finding us, you can call reception on 01315109380
It can get chilly underground, so we do recommend bringing a warm jacket/jumper just in case!
